Storey County Professional Fire Fighters would like to recognize, Fire Fighter Jack Bosley, for completing the required taskbooks and passing his probationary written and practical exams! Fire Fighter Bosley knew the fire service was his true calling and made a career change after 20 years with UPS. Being a Probationary Fire Fighter is already a mentally challenging and arduous endeavor, even more so during a pandemic, with a toddler at home, and a baby on the way! We are proud of his accomplishments and the citizens / visitors of Storey County are fortunate to have such a hardworking and dedicated Fire Fighter responding to their various emergencies! Congratulations, Brother Bosley!!!
Fire Fighters from Local 4227, would like to thank the folks from Pita And Plantains, for generously providing tacos while crews conducted master stream training this afternoon! Nothing like working up a sweat during training evolutions and being able to refuel with some delicious street tacos! Thank you for keeping your fire fighters fed so we're ready for the next alarm! If you are in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center you can find them at the corner of USA Parkway and Waltham Way. You won't be disappointed!
Storey County Professional Fire Fighters would like to recognize and congratulate newly appointed Fire Chief, Jeremy Loncar. Fire Chief Loncar was recently promoted from his previous position of Battalion Chief, which he was assigned to A Battalion. Fire Chief Loncar started his fire career in 1995 with the City of West Wendover. During his career path he also worked as a fire fighter with Layton City Fire Department and Bountiful City Fire Department in Utah. In 2006 he began a lengthy tenure with the Nevada State Fire Marshall's Office and served in many positions including Fire Investigator and Training Officer. Chief Loncar relocated to the Comstock in 2018 and hasn't looked back! We are elated and looking forward to his distinct leadership style and all that he brings to the Fire District, citizens of Storey County, and the Northern Nevada Fire service as a whole. Congratulations, Chief! We look forward to serving under your command!
Unfortunately because of COVID, Storey County Professional Fire Fighters, were not able to do Christmas how we normally do. Instead, we evaluated how we could be most effective in such a different holiday season.

We decided to donate in total $750 to the students of Storey County! This donation comes directly from the pockets of Storey County Fire Fighters. We hope that next holiday season we can be more interactive with our eager students! Merry Christmas, future leaders of Storey County!!!
